Entomophobia
I am afraid
to open up my eyes
a dream of nightmares
took over my world.
Surrounded with arthropods
as they crawl slowly on me
fear devoured me,
I cried out
and tried to run away,
but it was futile.
The centipede grinned,
as it came crawl up slowly,
I was trapped in a cage,
I panicked and shout
yet my voice can
only speak silence.
The spider gently
laid itself on my legs,
I shivered and
my body went numb
help me I shouted,
yet silence came
replying.
They slowly devoured me
and I screamed in fear
and then I realize
it is just a dream
of a thousand
nightmares…

Entomophobia (also known as insectophobia) is a common fear of or aversion to insects and similar arthropods, and even other “bugs”, such as worms. Commonly, this condition might be referred to as the “fear of insects or bugs”. This condition causes a slight to severe emotional reaction, a form of anxiety or a panic attack. It is a particular case of specific phobias, all of which have basically the same causes (differing mostly in the source of phobia) and similar choices of treatments.
I despised all arthropods except butterflies for some reason… :X please don’t ask me why but i used to have a dream that i got eaten up by a giant big centipede =.=

Eeeewwwww, that sounds scary indeed. I can just feel those bugs chomping. This definitely is a nightmare of a poem!

Being fond of all things creepy-crawly and given to picking up spiders, I love this post! I can imagine it will definitely creep out those who have a phobia about insects, however. Great poem, and very cool picture to go along with it…:)
