Wings

A path to freedom
where the sky
spread out wide
spread yourself
and prepare
for the longest journey

A path to eternity
where the heaven
welcome you
with open arms
pray and be
enlightened

A path to excitement
where you can
see the whole world
orbiting at your will
the wonders you
will never forget

A path to death
where the hunter
thought you were a bird
and shot you down
and realized a fallen angel
had descended

A path to torture
where you go back hell
and receive
judgement once again
and then you wonder
why do angels have wings
in the beginning?

I had shared this poem entry over at Jingle Poetry for The Poetry Potluck Week #3, a place for poets to share and encourage, you can check out others’ sharing at Jingle Poetry too!

    Nicely put, Riika…
Is death really necessary to see the beauty of it all? If life really necessary to see the ugliness of it all? :)
