The Witch’s Eyes

Many decades of year
passed by as if
a minute gone by
and I yet to open my eyes
to see this sinful world

I used to see
the nights of beautiful moon
the seasons of the world
and that may be the only
wonderful thing
I had ever seen

I used to
tease the people around me
travel around with my Baba
create spells which delights people
having so much fun

And now
I have longer forgotten
how and why
I cursed upon myself this darkness
The only thing I remember
The only way to conquer
jealousy and thirst of power
and escape towards
freedom

Lovely lines. I enjoyed reading this.

  17. I should have said I loved the photo of the witch’s eye… beautiful and goes so well with your website… as all pix do. I also enjoyed your memories from the past, even though you cursed yourself with darkness, lol.

    • XD, most people tend to run away from reality when it is bound to be painful for them, and the only way to truly see the light is through time and patience. =D And glad you enjoy your site stay here^^~

  18. I often think we do curse darkness upon ourselves, and lose the ability to see clearly….well put, and brilliant photo to illustrate your piece.

  19. The piece talks of escape, but it feels like she almost creates her own trap. Does that make sense? Beautiful images.

  20. Your poem is really haunting! So well done.

  21. A very imaginative poem, but I am not really sure that I understand it..

    • Oh it is actually a witch who cast herself a curse that make her lose the vision, this is the only way that she don’t have to see this sinful world as well as the things that is happening around her, like the other witches that were jealous of her power and did something bad to her, she want to live freely and enjoy life as an individual within all this going on, that’s why she cursed upon herself in order to forget everything being a witch and move towards freedom :D

  22. Now, why didn’t I think of that?
    Vey nicely done.

I enjoyed this visit have great weekend.
