Two Separated Souls

They used to be together
Blending well with
personalities and habits
No rejection
No contradiction
A deadly virus struck
the whole world and
everything interchanged
The moment of point
to make a decision
for self-defense and pride
She had split herself into two
A soul of sins and terror
A soul of kindness and innocence
The trigger was pulled not by herself
but another her
Memory was sealed within the
little key she held to prevent them
from merging once again
as both of the lost souls
search for their one
and only true
self

  5. I love the fact that you used two colors to emphasize the poem. What can I say, aren’t we all bipolar? :) )

  10. A pensive and questioning write– you are pondering and doing it well.

  11. Loved your creativeness….beautiful poem

  12. Outstanding writing and presentation. The two colours really drive home the impact of the loss of oneness!

  13. You are a talented one!

  20. Oh, me2 likes this one, even though the two
is supposed to mean ‘squared’ in my case.
Schizophrenia is something we all deal with.
We are of two minds — a left and a right brain.

The deadly virus has one of me puzzled a bit,
but I like the way you used the idea of Self and self.
Mucho kudos to you, Riika. Good work here! Uncle Tree

    • It is actually a story about a girl who is trying to survive in a midst of a deadly virus infection and one of her parent unfortunately caught it and tried to kill her. And in order to save herself, the urge of survival simply, she created another “her” with a soul filled with sins that pull the trigger to kill her own parent. I actually plan to write it as a story but I am not very good with long passage of words as I do make a lot of grammar mistakes which I don’t want to, so poems are a great way to go with =P

  21. Exquisitely inspired and composed, Riika. So glad you’re feeling better now!

  22. Wow…amazing thoughts…I agree with you being the devil of creation…who would have thought of this?…nicely done.

    Cheers!

  23. You are amazing, so happy to see you back and what an absolute eye opener on the take…hope you’re feeling better dear one, missed you soooo much xx

  24. The colour blocking is interesting. I wonder about why it remains separate through the whole poem. The lovers were never mingled in the symbolism of the colours. That seems very profound. Of course they must separate. They were never truly joined. It’s like a whole different poem happening in the visual. Intriguing.

  25. Lovely words! I like the colors of the text red going into write ..and the music ..everything blends so well into great work! Thanks for visiting my blog Riika!

  26. What a beautiful story we have here.. I read it a few times to read all the minute details!! So creative and beautifully have you written this.. Although this is exactly what happens in our Lives with our situations- and then we leave it at that.. To search and realize- often we don’t.. Help me- why do I always have to read beyond words- trying to look for a larger meaning??
My brain isn’t really limited within My Skull- it moves around all the dimensions creating so many waves that come back and hit me making me brood at other times!! Almost to honor them- I have included My Brooding too now in My Blog!! LOLsss
Your Writes are so complete and weighty- I love to douse myself lost in a trans world.. your images just add to the magic- the fantasy movies are made of you- only you carry lot of sense with your words- meanings and hidden messages.. :D

    Very well done xoxox

  27. Congratulations on your recovering Butterfly Girl..xx
I have been missing you crazy- I’ve seen you making posts even when you should have been completely resting- but I know perhaps how it is with a fine writer like you are..
I am so thrilled visiting your Site today.. No sooner I put the headphones- it was Elfen Lie Piano playing Linkin Park from the start. You granted my wish here.. xx
I often don’t look at instances as co- incidence- I look at them “as Destined” and look for next signals- aah side effects of using your brain in analytical thinking!!

  28. Always a lonely feeling of being incomplete, a void that can never be filled, unless someway the two lost souls find the key and a cure. Beautiful poem and the start of a great story.

  29. Loved the explication in this poem. The way you broke down the imagery into the narrative made it very clear. Liked the textural play as well; made for a great read. Definitely dug this poem.

    crb.

  30. Wow. Very interesting, and I like your use of the different font colors to make your point.
